Westwood basketball had an early season rematch with North Franklin on Tuesday, this time on the road. The Lady Rockets dropped a tight contest 30-27 with the Rockets edged the Gators 45-41.
LADY ROCKETS 27, GATORETTES 30
Westwood started slow, only managing 7 first half points and couldn’t recover enough to beat the Gatorettes.
The Lady Rockets outscored North 12-7 in the fourth quarter, but left 8 free throws at the line.
Carter Trail finished the night with 8 points – all in the second half. Maci Jackson added 5 and Jerzee Ferrell 5.
Westwood is now 2-1 on the year.
ROCKETS 45, GATORS 41
Westwood picked up a 16 point performance from Isiah Buchanan and Brock Christian went wild from deep, burying five 3-pointers on his way to a 16-point night to sweep the Gators for the season.
The Rockets are now 2-1 on the year.
Both teams return home Thursday night for “Pink Out” night against West Tullahoma. JV games begin at 4 p.m. with varsity at 6 p.m.
