On the morning of Friday, September 20, 2024 Paul Parsley, Principal of Coffee County Central High School, notified parents that a threat had been made towards the school.
The automated message stated that Coffee County Sheriff’s Deputies had investigated that threat and found no evidence that the threat was credible. An email was also sent to parents:
Coffee County Central High School is aware of potentially threatening statements having been made here this morning. The threats have been investigated by school resource officers, Sheriff’s investigators, and school administration. It was found that there are no credible threats. This message is being shared in the event that you have had concern. Thank you, Paul Parsley

Reference to activity at Coffee County Central High School
At approximately 11:00am the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department received a call of a possible threat at Coffee County Central High School. Deputies along with Investigators responded and began looking into the alleged threat. Preliminarily the investigation has revealed that there was no actual threat to the school or any student. Two students are being questioned regarding statements and comments that may have been misconstrued as threats. The Coffee County Sheriff’s Department takes these types of calls and possible threats very seriously. If proven, we will prosecute those involved to ensure that the safety and security of the schools and students is maintained. Currently, it appears that there was no danger to the school or to any student regarding this event.
