The United Way of South Central Tennessee’s 2026 Stuff the Bus campaign collected more than 65,000 school supply items, making this year’s drive the largest in the program’s history.
According to United Way officials, the donations filled more than 3,500 backpacks that will be distributed to students in 10 school districts across seven counties in southern Middle Tennessee.
The annual campaign featured multiple collection events throughout the region, allowing community members to donate backpacks, notebooks, pencils, crayons and other classroom essentials ahead of the new school year.
United Way officials thanked the community, volunteers and local partners for their support, saying the overwhelming response will help thousands of students begin the school year with the supplies they need to succeed in the classroom.
