Tuesday was a banner day for Coffee County Central Track & Field.
CHS had three athletes to qualify from the Class AAA Section 2 Meet to advance in the TSSAA State Meet and had a relay team set a school record.
Freshman Naomi Abiose won the girls high jump, clearing 5 feet 2 inches. Junior Morgen Spears place second, also with a height of 5 feet 2 inches. The top 4 qualify.
Meanwhile, junior Presley Rooker cleared 10 feet 6 inches in the boys pole vault – good enough for fourth place and a spot at the state meet.
The Coffee County girls 4×100 meter relay team of Amelia Keenan, Gracie Fowler, Spears and Abiose broke the school record. While they did not qualify for the state meet, the group clocked in at 53.99, outpacing the previous Central High school record of 54.03.
