More than 350 county election officials from across Tennessee gathered Monday for the Tennessee Division of Elections’ annual Election Seminar as they prepare for the August 6 Primary and General Election.

“It was another great turnout for the annual Tennessee Division of Elections statewide training seminar. I am proud of the hard work and dedication of our election officials statewide,” said Secretary Hargett “These Tennesseans help make our state a place where it is easy to vote, but hard to cheat.”

The seminar featured presentations on constitutional amendments and new election laws, disaster preparedness, election commission duties, voter list maintenance, campaign finance, and civic engagement. County election officials also received updates from the United States Postal Service.

“Our election officials are the best in the nation because they are committed to hard work, continuous training, and professional development,” said Coordinator of Elections Mark Goins. “Their dedication is one of the many reasons Tennessee has been recognized as the nation’s leader in election integrity for five consecutive years.”
