Shelbyville Power Water & Sewerage System warns customers to boil drinking water

The Shelbyville Water System has experienced a significant loss of water pressure in the Flat Creek Area due to a lack of water supply in the Elaine Road Booster Station. In a social media message posted on Monday, January 22, 2024 the Shelbyville Power Water & Sewerage System notified customers that as a precautionary measure, water should be boiled before consumption.

Specifically customers on the following roads should boil their water:

– BOTTLE HOLLOW ROAD

– FARRAR ROAD

GLENDALE ROAD

– HART ROAD

– JOE HART ROAD

– KINCAID ROAD

– LAKE ELAINE ROAD

– POSSUM TROT ROAD

Customers should boil their drinking water for one full minute before using the water to drink, brush teeth, prepare food, washing dishes or making ice. Loss of water pressure can introduce disease-causing organisms into the water system.
