Richard C Carter

Richard C Carter of Manchester passed this life on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at the Manchester Center for Rehab & Healing at the age of 83.  Funeral Services are scheduled for Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 1 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home with burial to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 5 – 8 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.

Mr. Carter, a native of Coffee County, was the son of the late Bennie and Georgia Driver Carter.  He was a plumber and electrician by trade but also worked for Coffee County, driving dump trucks and driving a school bus for 30 years for the Coffee County schools. Mr. Carter was a hard worker and enjoyed watching NASCAR races, hunting, fishing and gardening.  He loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Carter; sons, Richie Carter and Mark Fletcher; daughter-in-law, Linda Carter; brothers, Ed ,Raymond, Marvin, Marlin and Bennie Carter Jr. and sister, Anna Mae Jones.

Mr. Carter is survived by son, Michael Carter of Huntland; daughter, Rebecca Neeley (Terry) of Hillsboro; brother, Leroy Carter (Linda) of Tullahoma; sister, Annie Ruth Martin (Charles) of Manchester; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
