R.L. Norton

R.L. Norton age, 87, of Manchester went to be with his heavenly father Sunday, January 21, 2024.  He was born November 2, 1936, in Manchester, TN to the late Herman and Winnie (Jones) Norton.  R.L. is also preceded in death by his brothers, Roy Norton, and Gary Norton. R.L. opened Norton’s Body Shop in 1972 and ran his business until 1993.  He was a Dale Earnhart fan and every day he looked forward to meeting his friends for lunch at Stone Fort Restaurant.  R.L. recently accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior on December 3, 2023. 

R.L. is survived by his wife, Betty (Adams) Norton; sons, Rickey Norton (Catherine) and Randy Norton (Karen); daughters, Renee Ditmore (Raymond) and Rochelle Keele (Terry); grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends from 11a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 24th at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Brother Danny Anderson officiating.  Interment will follow at Ragsdale Cemetery.  Pallbearers serving will be Craig Barnes, Kyle Millaway, Raymond Ditmore, Randy Norton, Claus Thormaehlen, Larry Prince, and Aden Norton. 

Coffee County Funeral Chapel is honored to be serving the R.L. Norton family.
