Mr. Michael Nelson Floyd

Mr. Michael Nelson Floyd, age 60, of Manchester, TN, passed from this life Friday, June 9, 2023, at his residence.

Mr. Floyd was born in Baltimore, MD, to his late parents Dewey Alvin Floyd and Carolyn Krebs Floyd. He served his country with the United States Navy for 23 years, ultimately serving as a Master Chief of a nuclear submarine he was stationed in Kings Bay, Ga and Yorktown, Va . Mr. Floyd was commended on his leadership while in the Navy. He retired from the military and while in Manchester, he worked as a Trim specialist for Watson Metals. Mr. Floyd was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a great man, a hard worker, and enjoyed helping everyone he could. Mr. Floyd was a loving father and husband and was one of a kind.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dewey Kevin Floyd.

Mr. Floyd is survived by his wife of 39 years, Janet Floyd; daughters, Keri (Steven Upton) Floyd and Stephanie Floyd; brothers, Patrick (Vickie) Floyd and Jody (Teresa) Floyd; sisters, Lisa (Dan) Johnson and Colleen Blankenship; grandchildren, Kylie Upton and Brayden Back.

Visitation with the family will be held Friday, June 16, 2023, from 1:00pm until 3:00pm at Central Funeral Home with memorial service to follow at 3:00pm.
