Westwood Rockets 48, West Tullahoma 33
There was no championship hangover for the Westwood Rockets on Monday.
Just two days after winning the DRVC championship, Westwood jumped all over West Tullahoma 16-2 in the first quarter and cruised to a 48-33 road win.
Mason Troxler turned in a steady 14 point night. Zeke Jones buried three 3-pointers to finish with 9 points, all in the first half. Caleb Hill and Isaiah Buchanan each scored 8 points for the Rockets.
Westwood Lady Rockets 20, West Tullahoma 46
Westwood’s girls basketball season came to a close with a 46-20 loss at West Tullahoma Monday night.
Westwood was down 32-7 by halftime and out of contention early.
The Lady Rockets did wake up and put together a solid third quarter but the game was well out of reach.
Allison Russ and Zallona Dillard each turned in 7 point performances. Jerzee Ferrell and Shaylee Meadows each scored two points while Carter Trail and Maci Jackson scored 1 apiece.
Coffee Middle Lady Raiders 44, Stewarts Creek 34
Coffee Middle came back from down 10 at one point to beat Stewarts Creek 44-34 Monday night – keeping the Lady Raiders’ unbeaten season intact.
Three Lady Raiders touched double figures, led by Adalyn Clark with 15 points. Hayleigh Harris pitched in 11 and Jenslee Nogodula 10.
The Lady Raiders improve to 17-0 and will be off until they host South Franklin on January 4.
Coffee Middle Red Raiders 35, Stewarts Creek 49
The CMS Red Raider boys couldn’t overcome a slow start – falling behind 16-6 in the first period – on their way to a 49-35 loss at Stewarts Creek Monday night.
The loss is the sixth in the past seven games for the Raider boys, dropping them to 6-11 on the year.
Jerrad Morgan led the Raiders in the scorebook with 9 points. Landyn Stiefel added 8, Jaxon Pruitt 7 and Rylan Abellana 6.
