Manchester City Garbage pickup delayed due to unsafe conditions; county convenience centers will have delayed opening

Garbage pickup in Manchester will continue to be delayed due to unsafe road conditions for trucks.

The Manchester Mayor’s office tells Thunder Radio News that garbage pickup will resume when the company deems it to be safe for drivers and the public. City public works department assures that garbage pickup will run through the weekend if needed to get caught up.

Road conditions in Manchester on Tuesday are marginally better on main highways, but side streets continue to be treacherous. Many areas of Coffee County received between 5 and 7 inches of snow Sunday night into Monday, with localized areas receiving heavier amounts.

For those living in the county – convenience centers will re-open Wednesday albeit delayed. Centers are scheduled to open at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
