The new system is intended to provide a more reliable and secure way to store body-camera video and other digital evidence.

Officials say the upgrade will also improve long-term access to footage as the police department continues to expand its use of digital evidence.

The move to cloud-based storage is part of the city’s ongoing efforts to modernize its digital evidence system and ensure police video can be securely maintained and accessed when needed.
