White is a lieutenant with the Manchester Fire Department. Here’s what the person who nominated him had to say:

“Lt. White is the most upstanding man I know. He takes tremendous pride in his job, and the guys at the fire hall love and respect him. He welcomes anyone, whether they’re new or experienced, to come to him for advice. He has never met a stranger. I sleep better at night knowing we have people like Lt. White and Mr. Wooten protecting our community should we ever need them. These men are the first ones in and the last ones out.”

Gearlds is an emergency department registered nurse. Here’s what the person who nominated her had to say:

“Dana is the definition of dedication and selflessness. As an Emergency Department Registered Nurse, she works tirelessly caring for others while also balancing the demands of her FNP/ENP classes to further her education and better serve her community. She also cares for her dogs, cats, chickens, and goats, and always makes time to support her five adult children whenever they need her. Dana constantly puts others before herself, and her hard work, compassion, and commitment to both her family and profession make her truly deserving of being recognized as a hero.”
