Mr. George Maurice Jarrell, age 82, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2026. He was born on July 8, 1944 in Manchester, Tennessee to the late G. L. & Mabel Irene Farrar Jarrell. He was a longtime and faithful member of Summitville Church of Christ. Throughout his life, he was known for his strong dedication to family. He began his career as a barber in Morrison before going on to work in automobile sales for Al White Motors. He later became employed with Batesville Casket Company, where he worked as a MIG welder and sander until his retirement. Even after retiring, he continued to stay active by helping transport vehicles for Al White Motors.
He enjoyed driving his Ford truck and treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a familiar face at their birthday parties, ball games, and family gatherings, always making an effort to be present for the moments that mattered most.
He also enjoyed the simple pleasures of spending time with his friends. He rarely missed his morning breakfast at First Chance Market, where he could catch up on everything going on, and he was always ready to meet up for lunch at Medley’s Diner. His friendships, family, and the time he shared with those he loved were among the greatest joys of his life.
Mr. Jarrell is survived by his daughter, Shawnna (Dennis) Thompson; 4 grandchildren, Kayla (Darren) Gardner, Kelsey Thompson (Jonah Zachariades), Kristen (Thomas) Zachariades and Jacob Thompson (Ali Wittenmeier); 3 great grandchildren, Emily Nicole Gardner, Kenai Lewis Zachariades and Levi Thomas Zachariades.
