Dorothy Marie Battles

Dorothy Marie Battles, age 72, born August 22,1951, a resident of Manchester, TN, departed this life on December 21, 2023, after an attended illness at the Manchester Health Center.

Ms. Battles was an employee for several years at Abbott and Co., located in Manchester and Tullahoma, TN before becoming disabled.

Mr. Battles is preceded in death by her mother, Treva Price Brown Battles, father, Grady Fred Battles, sister-in-law, Laverne Perkins Battles, and brother-in-law, Henry Brooks. She is survived by her daughter, Angelia Nicole Battles, grandson, Grady Frederick Eugene Battles (aka-Jalbo), two sisters, Brenda Brooks, Mona (Charlie) Starr, two brothers, Bobby (Nellie Ann) Battles, Grady Battles, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, one special friend, Rosa, and James Cummings.

Due to her illness, Ms. Battles’ interest in activities were limited. She loved to read. She lived for her daughter and grandson.

Before Ms. Battles succumbed to her illness, her final words were “tell everyone I love them.” Ms. Battles was restored as a member to the Church of Christ.

Sincere “thank you” to each of you for the love and kindness shown to Dot and her family. A special thank you to the Manchester Health Center and affiliated medical centers for the care provided to our loved one. We appreciate you!

The family will receive well wishes at the Manchester Funeral Home (aka-Deadman) not the family resident, please. The visitation will be Saturday, December 30, 2023, from 11 AM with ceremony following at 1 PM. Manchester Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Bro. Eugene Wilkerson will officiate the eulogy. The burial will be at Elam Cemetery, Manchester, TN.
