The District 9-4A Baseball District Tournament is set.
For Coffee County’s Red Raiders (no. 5 seed), they will travel to Columbia for a 6 pm. first pitch Wednesday afternoon. The Lions swept the Raiders in a pair of tight games just last week.
After Wednesday, the next few games for the Raiders move to Shelbyville High School.
IF THEY WIN WEDNESDAY
If Coffee County wins on Wednesday, they will play no. 2 Shelbyville at 6 p.m. Thursday at Shelbyville. A win in that game will put them one win away from the district championship – playing a final at 7 p.m.. Friday night. If the Raiders win Friday night they move to the district championship game Monday, likely on the road. If the Raiders lose Friday, they will need to win an if-necessary game at 6 p.m. Saturday against either Shelbyville or Columbia.
IF THEY LOSE WEDNESDAY
If the Raiders lose Wednesday, they will play at 4 p.m. Friday against the loser of Columbia and Shelbyville. A win at 4 p.m. Friday would have them playing Friday night at 7 p.m. They would need to win that game and an if-necessary game at 6 p.m. Saturday to move to the district championship Monday night, likely on the road.
The tournament is double elimination. The Raiders need to reach the district championship game to secure a spot in the region tournament.
All Raider baseball games in the district tournament can be heard on Rooster 101.5 FM (except Wednesday’s game at Columbia).
