Coffee County Veterans Announce Memorial Day Display at Peoples Bank

Your Coffee County Veterans Association (CCVA) is set to host the annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 26th, 2025 at 11 AM. Repeating the success of last year, this year’s ceremony will again be held indoors at the Manchester Arts Center–128 E. Main Street in Manchester. Richard Claing, of Manchester’s VFW Post 10904, will serve as Master of Ceremonies.

There is no cost to attend. The public, especially students, are encouraged to attend and learn that freedom is not free; that a dear price has been paid; and that the liberties we enjoy should never be taken for granted.

Partnering with CCVA, People’s Bank and Trust at 1203 Hillsboro Highway in Manchester, has dedicated its front lawn as a memorial display of crosses and Stars of David. These symbolize the brave Americans who gave their all in defense of our nation and our freedoms; and are arranged just as they are at the National Cemetery in Normandy, France. The display is inspiring by day and breathtaking at night, as the crosses are solar-powered and light up in the dark.

The Coffee County Veterans hope you and your family make plans to not only view the memorial display, but attend the brief, but fitting tribute to our nation’s fallen heroes.
