Coffee County Sheriff Chad Partin was recently a guest on Thunder Radio’s interview show, “Connecting Coffee County”. Sheriff Partin detailed how difficult it is to retain good employees with the current pay rates for Coffee County Deputies.
Sheriff Partin went on to say that Manchester City and Tullahoma City Police Departments pay well above that rate. Sheriff Partin said that there is plenty of money in the County’s General Fund Balance to pay his and other County employees what they are “worth”.

Anthony Harden, Deputy Sheriff with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department spoke at the June 12, 2025 Coffee County Budget and Finance Committee Meeting. Deputy Harden stated that he could not afford to build a future for his family (in this community) because he makes $19 per hour:
Sheriff Partin said that he doesn’t want to have to be a Sheriff’s Department that generates revenue by using radar to enforce county speed limits and issuing speeding tickets.
The full Coffee County Commission has yet to pass the upcoming year’s fiscal budget.
