Jenna Amacher, a former Tullahoma Alderman and former candidate for Coffee County Clerk, was indicted by a grand jury in two separate cases.
Amacher was arrested on Wednesday, June 10, and her bond was set at $10,000. She is scheduled to appear in the Coffee County Circuit Court at 9 a.m. on June 26.
In a statement distributed on Thursday, June 11, Coffee County District Attorney Craig Northcott said he launched an investigation into Amacher’s residence after receiving multiple complaints from Coffee County citizens. Northcott said he found that Amacher had listed an address without an inhabitable home as her place of residence during her run for office and on her voter registration and driver’s license.
In the case related to Amacher’s run for office, a grand jury returned the following indictments: false entries on official registration or election document (class D felony), false swearing or affirming (class D felony), destruction/alteration/false entry with governmental records (class E felony), perjury (class A misdemeanor), and failure to notify of change of address (class C misdemeanor).
In the case related to Amacher’s voter registration, a grand jury returned the following indictments: illegal registration or voting (class D felony) and two counts of perjury (class A misdemeanors).
Amacher sought the Republican nomination for Coffee County Clerk in the May 5 local primary election. Donna Lowe Spaulding won the Republican nomination in the primary.
