Coffee County basketball faces a critical two-game district stretch this week, with both the Lady Raiders and Red Raiders set for challenging matchups against Cookeville and Lincoln County. Lady Raiders Face State Power on the Road
The Lady Raiders will be tested immediately as they open the week on the road against a dominant Cookeville team. The Lady Cavaliers enter the matchup ranked No. 4 in the state with an 18–1 record, presenting Coffee County with its toughest challenge of the season to date.
Coffee County will once again be without senior guard and Samford commit Natalie Barnes, forcing the Lady Raiders to look for star power elsewhere as they navigate a difficult road environment. Balanced scoring and strong defensive execution will be critical as Coffee County looks to stay competitive against one of the state’s elite programs.
Cookeville’s ability to control tempo and string together scoring runs will place an emphasis on composure and discipline from the opening tip.
Red Raiders Look to Start District Stretch Strong
On the boys’ side, the Red Raiders face a Cookeville squad that enters at 11–7 and 0–3 in district play, coming off a seven-point loss to Warren County. While the Cavaliers are still searching for their first district win, they remain a dangerous opponent, particularly at home.
Coffee County will look to capitalize on the opportunity to start the district stretch on a positive note. Establishing rhythm early and applying defensive pressure could help the Red Raiders dictate pace and build confidence moving forward.

Lady Raiders Meet Motivated Lady Falcons
The Lady Raiders return to the road Friday night for another major district test against Lincoln County. The Lady Falcons enter at 14–4 overall and 1–1 in district play, coming off a dominant 55–24 win over Shelbyville Central.
This matchup carries added intrigue after Coffee County defeated Lincoln County four times last season — twice in the regular season, followed by wins in the district and region championships. With revenge on the line, expect a highly competitive atmosphere as the Lady Raiders look to maintain consistency against a motivated opponent.
High-Scoring Battle Expected in Boys’ Matchup
The boys’ game sets up as a potential shootout. Lincoln County enters with a 14–4 record and a 1–1 district mark, having faced many of the same opponents as Coffee County. The Falcons split two games with Tullahoma, went 2–0 against Franklin County — including an 83–82 win earlier this week — and are coming off a narrow 80–75 loss to Shelbyville Central.
For the Red Raiders, offensive execution will be a focal point against a Lincoln County team capable of putting up points in a hurry. Keeping pace, valuing possessions, and finding consistent scoring options will be essential in what shapes up to be a tightly contested district matchup.
District Stakes in Focus
With two demanding road tests ahead, this week could set the tone for the remainder of district play. How Coffee County responds — particularly away from home — will play a key role in shaping the trajectory of the season for both the Lady Raiders and Red Raiders.
