The Westwood Rockets opened the 2026 football season in impressive fashion Thursday night, cruising to a 38-0 home victory over Community in a game broadcast live on Thunder Radio.
The Rockets dominated on both sides of the ball, piling up big plays offensively while holding Community to approximately 50 total yards on defense.
Berott Clem led the offensive attack with a huge night on the ground, carrying the ball four times for 126 yards and three touchdowns. Clem’s performance included a 63-yard touchdown run as he helped Westwood build an early lead.
Brentley Brown added a rushing touchdown on two carries, while Walker Lovelace contributed 45 rushing yards on two attempts. Lovelace also made an impact through the air, hauling in two receptions for 36 yards, including a 16-yard touchdown catch.
Quarterback Brody Elijah was efficient in his season debut, completing all three of his pass attempts for 36 yards and a touchdown.
Westwood’s defense matched the offense’s strong performance, pitching a shutout and limiting Community to roughly 50 total yards to cap a dominant opening-night victory.
The Rockets will look to carry that momentum into next week’s matchup as they begin the season 1-0.
