BASKETBALL: Lady Raiders debut at no. 5 in State AP Poll

The first Associated Press Poll of the season for Tennessee High School Girls Basketball has been released and the Coffee County Central Lady Raiders find themselves right in the middle.

Coffee County sits at no. 5 in the 4A poll. The top three teams are all from East Tennessee with Bradley Central at no. 1, Bearden at no. 2 and Sevier County at no. 3. Clarksville is fourth.

The rest of the top 10 is Cookeville at no. 6, Brentwood no. 7, Campbell County no. 8, Columbia at no. 9 and Lebanon at 10.

Of Coffee County’s (18-3 overall) 3 losses – one was to Bradley Central at the top of the 4A poll, one was to McMinn Central ranked at no. 1 in 2A and the other to Brentwood, ranked no. 7 in 4A.

The Lady Raiders next scheduled game is Friday, Jan. 19 at Lincoln County at 6 p.m. Travel conditions could force that game to be postponed – Thunder Radio WMSR will post updates when they area available.
