Apparently junior Olivia Vinson enjoys playing in East Tennessee.
One day after piling up 24 points to lead Coffee County to a 9-point win over Alcoa, Vinson racked up a season-high 25-points Thursday as the Lady Raiders pummeled Kingston 61-38 to advance to Friday’s championship round of the Lenoir City Christmas Tournament.
Vinson scored 15 of her 25 in the second half – including an 11-point third quarter. She was joined in double-figures by Jules Ferrell with 15 and Natalie Barnes with 12. Ferrell went wild in the second quarter – racking up 13 points to help Coffee County take a 33-18 lead into the halftime break.
The Lady Raiders will now play in the holiday tournament championship a 5 p.m. central (6pm eastern) Friday night.
Meanwhile, the Raider boys snapped a 3-game losing skid with a 59-33 win over Prattville, Alabama in the Don Webb Classic in Scottsboro Thursday. Jayden Carter piled up 15 points to go along with 14 from Cooper Reed in the win.
