BASKETBALL: Coffee Middle sweeps South on 8th grade night

Coffee Middle School got a conference sweep of visiting South Franklin Thursday night – sending the program’s 8th graders out with a win on 8th grade night.

The Lady Raiders made things look easy, whipping the Lady Trojans 46-12. Hayleigh Harris and Adalyn Clark each finished with 11 and Isabelle Saner had 8 for CMS. The win pushes the Lady Raiders to 18-0 on the year.

Meanwhile, the Raider boys got a much needed win: 48-32 over the Trojans.

CMS took a 26-17 lead into the locker room then put it away with a 15-5 third quarter. Jerrad Morgan with 11 and Jaxon Pruitt with 10 paced the Raider offense.

The win snaps a 4 game losing skid and makes the Raider boys 7-11.

Both teams will travel to North Franklin on Monday, Jan. 8.
