BASKETBALL: Coffee County cruises past Spring Hill Monday night

Coffee County handled business Monday night.

Both Coffee County Central basketball teams thumped visiting Spring Hill for a District 9-4A sweep at Joe Frank Patch Memorial Gymnasium – games you heard live on Thunder Radio.

The Lady Raiders led 21-1 late in the first quarter and never looked back.

Olivia Vinson paced Coffee County with 20 points, followed closely by Natalie Barnes’ 14.

“We got to play our game plan no matter who we are playing,” said Vinson.

Coffee County executed near flawlessly.

The lopsided score allowed for all kind of subs through the second half.

Jules Ferrell pitched in 8 points, Channah Gannon 7 and Audri Patton 6. Jaydee Nogodula and Ella Arnold each finished with 3.

Red Raiders 55, Spring Hill 26

Junior Brady Wright piled up 17 first half points to push the Raiders in front and they never looked back, cruising to a 55-26 win over Spring Hill.

Coach Andrew Taylor was able to substitute liberally, starting as early as midway through the first quarter.

Jayden Carter and Cayden Trail finished with 7 points, followed by Camden Hunt with 6, Caleb McCall with 5, Luke Campbell 3, Jackson Shemwell 3 and Cooper Reed 2.

UP NEXT

Both teams will host Lincoln County Tuesday night for senior night.

A win for the Lady Raiders would secure a regular season district championship.

Meanwhile, the Raider boys can win the regular season title with a win Tuesday and a win Thursday at Spring Hill. A win in one or the other would secure no worse than second place.

Both games Tuesday will be broadcast live on Thunder Radio WMSR 107.9 FM, 1320 AM.
