BASEBALL: Raiders open district tournament Wednesday

Coffee County Red Raider baseball will open up District 9-4A tournament play Wednesday against Columbia.

The district tournament is set up in two pools of three. The Raiders (no. 5) are in the pool with the no. 2 and no. 3 teams – Spring Hill and Columbia, respectively. Spring Hill will be the host site for the Raiders side of the bracket. The winner of each three-team pool will play for the district title. The two teams reaching the district championship also advance to the region tournament – everyone else is eliminated for the season. The pool bracket is double elimination.

The other three-team pool consists of top seeded Lincoln County, along with Shelbyville (no. 4) and Warren County (no. 6).

The Raiders will play Columbia at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. A win would put them against Spring Hill at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. A loss on Wednesday would have them playing at 4 p.m. on Friday. See the full bracket below.
